No Ironing

My one indulgence on the home front is having an ironing lady. It all started when we were renovating and I didn't have anywhere to set the ironing board up. So I kept it up when I went back to work after having Lucy and I feel so freed up, no demands to get the ironing done, no piles of unironed clothes lying around and it doesn't even cost that much (average about $20/week).

So what to do when the ironing ladies are on holidays and our iron breaks (probably from lack of use!). Make new clothes of course. I whipped these up yesterday

2 pairs of shorts and a skirt for Charlotte.

I used this on one pair just because it was screaming at me to use it. I was lucky enough to get these free from Michael Miller, it's a new line due out soon. One is a bias trim and the other is called ruffle rac (ruffled ric rac).

I also made another "It's a Bag" (as I am now calling them). This is for a little surprise gift going out soon. I hope to have these for sale soon and will be making them in 2 sizes. This larger shopping size and a smaller size which I think would work great for taking your lunch to work. You could then fold it up to take home at the end of the day. (obviously you need to ignore the fact it needs ironing - broken iron as I previously mentioned)

Excuse all the photos it's overcast here today and light rain so I had to take them inside

You have been sewing up a storm Cass, I'm so jealous! Lucky you to get those trims too, I was drooling over some of them the other day

Yes gorgeous trims. Isn't it lovely to just 'whip' things up! The bags are a great idea too cass :)

Ohhhh Cass, I'm very envious of you having an ironing lady! One of my goals this year is to actually get to the bottom of my ironing basket!

I was the super lucky bag recipient for my birthday!!! Thanks Cass!!! It's fantastic - the perfect size to keep in the handbag for unexpected shopping or the couple of things we sometimes need, like milk and gread and I forget to take the green bags out for. Fantastic idea!
