As we left the classroom this morning, me with a tear in my eye, I hoped she would make lots of friends (she already has quite a few so I really shouldn't worry), not be teased or be a teaser, be helpful to the other children and respectful of the staff.
As we drove off I remembered all the things I had forgotten to tell her, especially to remember to put her hand up to go to the toilet in plenty of time, wait for her turn to speak to the teacher, don't talk in class and listen carefully. It's such a different experience to pre-school but I know she's ready so I guess I'd better be too.
Be good my baby and enjoy school

Oh Cass - now I have a tear in my eye! She is definitely growing up and I hope school is a great experience for her - can't wait to read how the first day went!
Awwww Cass, you have me teary too! How grown up does she look! Grace's first day is next Monday.
Cass, I almost cried myself reading this post. I am sure she will do wonderfully and be happy and settled at school but I know the heart pangs you must be feeling.
Oh Cass, I feel the same. DS is about to start pre-school in 2 days and I just wonder where have the years gone.
Charlotte looks so grown up, and I am sure that she will be fine and make lots of new friends.
Charlotte looks lovely in her uniform.
I hope you had a good day Charlotte!!
I sympathise with you, Cass. It's an exciting, bittersweet time. She looks very grown up.
