I've decided 2009 is the year I am going to start using all those fabrics in my stash that are too "special" to use. I figure why keep them locked away when I could make something from them and they will be noticed.

So the first on the list was this Kristen Doran Matryoshka fabric I have been hoarding since the Stitches and Craft show last year. I made the girls at Charlotte's party some little matryoshka dolls from some other fabric and Charlotte was pestering me for some but I knew I had this special fabric to use for my two. I backed them with some denim I had on hand.

Lucy had a little accident on the lounge this afternoon while jumping on my brother and is now sporting a nice bruise on her cheek. She loves getting her photo taken so when I had the camera out she had to get her "sore" in the photo.

She has also taken a shine to wearing these flippers in the house too.

I bought that fabric at S&C as well, it is still squirreled away in my cupboard. I'm scared to cut it!

I always try to use my stash specials if I can. It pains me though, there are a few that I just like to pat occasionally and then put back.

It is my favourite when kids dress themselves :-)

A great idea to use those special fabrics. They look so much better made into smoething than being away where no one can see them. I love the little dolls, but especially love the flippers, too cute.

Flourescent flippers should always be the first choice in appropriate footwear!

Ouch - poor Lucy - but I adore that flipper photo Cass - seems like completely appropriate footwear to a two-year-old!

Poor Lucy! Hope she isn't hurting too much.

Love the flippers!

I too have my special stash! I tried to use some of it in my quilt so that I can look at it forever.

That flipper picture really made me laugh! too cute :)

I think I had better start using my 'way too special fabrics' this year or my sewing room will explode like my wardrobe is doing right now. I'm in the middle of an ironing mountain preparing to go back to work tomorrow. Yuck! It's way too hot for ironing or work!

Year of using up the "special" fabric! I like that, :)

You certainly should use up all of those fabrics otherwise before you know it they become "I loved this once" fabrics and you never end up using them - strike while the iron is hot so to speak! How cute is your little one in those flippers - adorable =]
