A Funny Hat

Here is the hat I made my brother. The brim is waaay to floppy even though I used a strong interfacing in it. I am thinking of cutting it in half so it's not so floppy.

I hope you don't mind me saying honestly, it looks a bit girly for a manly looking bloke like your brother since it is rather floppy. Yeah, cut the brim a little would be perfect. He looks rather pleased with it though :) I haven't done hats yet, too scary for me. Well done Cass.

No problems Novy. He wanted it in terry towelling and that one was on special. I agree the wide brim is bit girly.

He does look very happy with it! I agree a narrower brim would be better!

Definately puts Dame Edna to shame!! lol
Would be interested to know what sort of interfacing you would use for a hat.

Julie, I think that is why it wen wrong I needed stonger interfacing. Although I did use extra strong, my brother kept saying just put cardboard in there.

Cass, if you can get something called buckram (not sure on the spelling), that is what is used for hats. Might be a bit too stiff though. I know what you were trying to achieve with the hat. Is it to wear to the cricket etc?
