It's day 2 of the school holidays here and so far so good. Yesterday I took Charlotte and a friend to see Hannah Montana which we all enjoyed.
Today Charlotte and I went Ten Pin Bowling, it's 1 game all so we need a decider some time soon.
When we got home we did some baking - banana bread and chocolate cake.

At
Mathildas Market I got Charlotte an Owl Softie Kit from
Claire and we decided to have a go at that this afternoon before Lucy got home from child care.

For anyone out there contemplating a craft activity for the kids this is a good one. Charlotte is 6 and pretty much managed most of it herself. I did sew the feet on as they were a bit tricky for her. Charlotte used the sewing machine to sew the seams but you could easily sew these by hand. She did all the cutting of the wings and eyes herself (so they are a bit wonky), sewed the wings together, the eyes on and most of the wings to the body. I forgot to look at the time when we started but it would have taken less than 1 hour. So catch her at the
Stitches and Craft in Sydney and get a pattern or a kit.

Must have a look at that softie. BTW, that necklace Charlotte is wearing is cute.
School holidays is over for us. Today is the first day back at preschool.
How fabulous, I love the little Owl and I think the wonkiness is part of its charm!! Clever Charlotte!!
Charlotte's little owl is very sweet! It makes me think I should've tried something like this with my seven y.o. on our hols (we finished up last week) as he's quite crafty. There's always September!!
Well done Charlotte!
I do love that little owl.
What great activites - looking forward to seeing what the two of you do for the rest of the week!
Great job on the owl Charlotte - and also noticed that the owl necklace is the same as the one on the instructions - too cute!
Oh that little Toot owl looks divine. Well done Charlotte and thanks so much for the kind words about the pattern. I'm so glad you she enjoyed it.
